PARIS - Morocco has experienced rapid urban growth in recent decades, with the urban population increasing from 38.0% in 1975 to 65.2% in 2024, and projected to reach 67.8% by 2030.

The Roadmap presents a series of recommendations to promote competitive, inclusive, sustainable and resilient urban development in Morocco, and follows the previous study on National Urban Policy in Morocco (only in FR).

These recommendations build upon existing policies and mechanisms in Morocco, and also include international best practices that may serve as a source of inspiration.
